FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

Q) Before I book a band is there anything I should ask at the venue?

A) Make sure the venue has an entertainment licence to allow live bands to play there. We’re not a loud rock band but venues with sound limiters should be avoided. We need space to perform, a stage isn’t necessary, but a minimum space of 5m wide x 3m deep would be appreciated. Space for dance floor and a mixing desk table in front of the band is a must. Finally, a 240v 13amp power supply with at least two power outlets is essential.

 

Q) How much do you charge?

A) Weddings, parties and corporate functions start from £800 depending on the location and timings of the event. Local pub gigs start from around £500.

 

Q) What time do you start and finish?

A) We like to offer two sets of about hour each to suit your timings on the night. We’ll usually arrive from 6pm, take an hour to set up and sound check and aim to be away no later than 1 am

 

Q) Can I choose the ‘first dance’ song at my wedding?

A) Absolutely! It will be our pleasure to perform any song you choose for your first dance, even if it does not appear on our current song list.

 

Q) What equipment do you supply?

A) We have a 2 x 500w PA system, lighting rigs and amplification for the band. All our equipment is Portable Appliance Tested (PAT) annually. We also carry £5m of Public Liability Insurance.

 

Q) Can you play music through your PA before you start and during intervals?

A) Yes. If you are not also hiring the services of a DJ / Disco we can play our own selection of suitable music via an mp3 player or you may feel more than welcome to bring along either your own ipod / mp3 player to plug directly into our PA system or provide us with your own selection of CD’s. Our PA can also be used for speeches

Q) What are your deposit and payment requirements?

A) A 20% deposit via BACS or cheque (minimum £150) payable within 14 days from when the booking is placed is required in order to secure the date. The remaining balance can be settled any time before the event or on the night by cash or cheque.We are not VAT registered. .
